Out the Box Learning is a mobile provision delivered within your school environment. We work alongside schools to create meaningful outdoor learning experiences that integrate with existing curriculum, staffing and inclusion structures.
This is not an alternative to the curriculum - it is a different way of accessing it.
At Out the Box Learning, curriculum and impact are at the heart of our approach. Projects are carefully mapped to your school’s curriculum to ensure continuity and seamless transition between the ‘Box’ and the classroom. Through practical, real-world projects, pupils apply English, Maths, Science, Humanities and creative skills while building confidence, engagement and independence. Learners develop portfolios that evidence progress, connect teachers to meaningful outcomes, and celebrate achievement across subjects. Alongside academic development, we support improvements in engagement, attendance, emotional regulation and positive relationships with learning.
Our approach is grounded in research showing that outdoor learning, project-based learning and meaningful relationships can improve engagement, confidence and outcomes for young people. We believe some learners need a different way of accessing the curriculum - not a different curriculum. By combining practical, real-world learning with carefully mapped curriculum projects, we help pupils reconnect with education while supporting schools to build sustainable, inclusive practice over time.
